Science – KS3

Course Outline

Students take the Wikid Science course as their KS3 Science. This course has a practical skills focus on How Science Works together with content. This course acts as a preparation for their studies at KS4.

Assessment

Each half term pupils will do an APP assessment for their practical skills and a written test on the content of the units they have studied. Their performance in these assessments can be used for periodical set changes for students.

Equipment needed

Pupils will be provided with exercise books and practical equipment to use in class. Pupils will need to bring writing and drawing equipment including a calculator.

Supporting your child’s progress

Monitor your child is completing work at home and revising for end of unit tests. Support you child in joining the STEM club on the lower school site.

Homework will be set as according to the school homework timetable.
