The Design and Technology Faculty comprises ten staff, seven teaching staff and three technicians.

At KS3 all students are taught Design and Technology. They cover five projects a year, one from each of the following specialisms – Resistant Materials, Systems and Control, Graphics, Food Technology and Textiles.
At KS4 we offer the following courses:

At KS5 we offer the following courses:
GCE Design and Technology Product Design – 3D – AQA
GCE Design and technology Product Design – Textiles – AQA
Extra-curricular opportunities
We offer a variety of opportunities for students to develop their skills and knowledge of DT outside of the classroom.
In KS3 we offer 2 clubs – CDT and cooking on a weekly basis. We
Are also part of the school’s STEM club
In KS4 we offer weekly study clubs where students can develop their skills in their chosen discipline. The Textiles students have the chance to attend ‘The Clothes Show exhibition’ every year. In Hospitality and Catering the students have the opportunity to enter competitions to showcase their work.
In KS5 the students have the opportunity to attend various exhibitions to develop their knowledge of current and future technologies – The Gadget Show, The London Craft Fair at Somerset House. The department also has links with Norman Foster, a leading architect. The students have the chance to visit their practice in order to see architects at work.
