The 'College Journal'

The 'College Journal' is an essential part of being a successful pupil at Holy Family.  It encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning by recording homework/coursework, together with deadlines for its completion.  There is a list of useful websites and pages of subject-specific vocabulary for reference, as well as sections on study skills, preferred learning styles and, of course, the opportunity to record set targets (both personal and subject-specific) each term. Some key School Policies, important dates for the academic year, and sections on rewards and sanctions are in the Journal.  Prayers are also included, to provide a focus for times used as opportunities for quiet reflection.

The Journal is also an important means of communication between home and College.  Parents/carers can notify staff of any concerns and, similarly, teachers can inform parents/carers of any issues arising in College.

All pupils are provided with a new 'College Journal' each September and must carry it with them at all times during the school day, and take it home with them each evening.
