Our Aims
The main aim of the Holy Family Technology College is to create a caring community
in which all students can grow as Christians, fulfil their potential
academically, develop an appreciation of our World and become confident, well-balanced
individuals which will enable them to take their place in society.
In order to achieve this we aim to:
• ensure that our religious beliefs are reflected in the daily life
of our college through Christian concerns such as justice, peace, compassion,
reconciliation
and through valuing every member of our community;
• offer a broad and balanced curriculum which gives all our students
access to the full range of educational opportunities - one which provides
progression
and continuity of experience and is capable of differentiation to meet the
needs of students’ various abilities, interests and talents.
• provide our students with the skills necessary for success at school
and to prepare them for the demands of adult life – including the world
of work –
and for the responsibilities of close personal relationships and family life.
• ensure equality of opportunity and promote recognition of the contribution
of all cultures and religions to the progress of human kind and foster positive
attitudes towards a multi-cultural society;
• equip our students to take their part in a democratic society, and
encourage an awareness of the nation’s political and economic life and
of the
individual’s rights and responsibilities;
• build strong partnerships between school, home, our parishes and our local community; and
• build a safe and secure environment where our staff and students can work together in a caring atmosphere of respect and friendliness.
