Happy Easter

“For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son

So that everyone who believes in him

May not perish but have eternal life”

John 3:16

We find ourselves in Holy Week and we have been holding special assemblies that focus on this most important time in the year of the Church. Coming to the end of Lent I am afraid to say I look at myself and think that I did not do the things I wanted to do during these past weeks. Each year, for example, I say I will put aside some time of each day to read a Lenten reflection and each year I find I have failed to attend sufficiently to this task. Of course, I find myself in good company. On Palm Sunday we heard in the Gospel that the disciples were incapable of staying awake for just one hour with Jesus. I also took but a little time for the apparently faithful Peter to deny Christ three times. No-one expects perfection in our school community and that is important to remember, but we do encourage everyone, staff and students alike, to try again each day to follow the example given to us by Jesus. I wish you and your families a happy Easter season.
