Holy Family Catholic School has a large and experienced safeguarding team to ensure consistent and effective safeguarding across both our school sites. All Heads of Year and key pastoral staff are trained as Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) or Deputy DSLs.

Mr Jason Gharu

Deputy Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Mr Gharu has over 20 years of pastoral experience. He holds advanced DSL accreditation and specialist training in the Prevent Duty and online safety. He is responsible for leading the school’s safeguarding strategy, promoting a culture of vigilance, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.

Ms Lauren Hall

Deputy DSL and Harmful Sexual Behaviours Lead
Ms Hall is trained to advanced DSL level and has specialist expertise in responding to harmful sexual behaviours. She has also undertaken additional training in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma-informed practice.

Mrs Sophie Gbeve

School Mental Health Coordinator and Deputy DSL
Mrs Gbeve is trained to advanced DSL level and is a qualified Mental Health Lead. She has extensive experience in supporting students’ emotional wellbeing and works closely with external mental health services and agencies to ensure comprehensive care for our students.
